Low-Cost Things You Can Do NowHeating and Cooling
When heating your home: Reduce
your thermostat by 3-5 Degrees F when your home is occupied;set to 55 Degrees F or lower, or
turn off your heating system when your home is unoccupied.
When cooling your home: Increase your
thermostat by 3-5 Degrees F when your home is occupied;set to 85 Degrees F or higher or turn
off your cooling system when your home is unoccupied.
Inspect air filters before the heating and
cooling seasons as required by manufacturer and replace as needed. Dirty
filters restrict airflow and increase energy use.
